Further cooperation directions in the field of labor and social protection with international organizations were discussed

Sahil Babayev: "Cooperation with international organizations must be based on strategic planning and long-term priorities and should play the role of active support in the process of reforms in the fields of labor and social protection and contribute to the achievement of concrete results in the actual business sectors"
The leadership of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a meeting with representatives of international organizations operating in our country. Representatives of about 30 international organizations attended the meeting jointly organized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and the UN Development Program.
At the meeting, the minister of labour and social protection of population Sahil Babayev emphasized that one of the main goals of the reform program of the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev is to ensure the broad application of progressive international approaches and initiatives in the socio-economic management and population service systems, the most up-to-date technologies arising from the advanced world experience, innovative and effective working mechanisms. Cooperation with prominent international organizations on labour, employment, labour market regulation, population occupancy and demography, social protection and other related areas should always be kept in focus of attention. This cooperation should be based on a strategic planning approach and long-term priorities should be identified. Projects based on these priorities should play the role of active support in the process of reforms in the fields of labour and social protection and contribute to the achievement of concrete results in the actual business sectors.
The minister said that today, support for the integration of youth into the labour market and the development of the inclusive labor market, the creation of employment services as well as the vacancy base on electronic technologies, the effective organization of the fight against informal employment, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of labour inspection are one of the actual issues. There are also issues such as improving the implementation mechanism of the social assistance and self-employment program, establishing the establishment of social services system based on social rehabilitation methods in modern world practice, the application of "social work" model, the models applied in international practice to conduct strategic studies in relevant fields and so on.
S.Babayev underlined the importance of paying special attention to these issues while determining future directions of cooperation with international organizations and drafting joint projects. The minister expressed his confidence that the cooperation to be held in these areas would benefit.
Representatives of various international organizations emphasized their commitment to supporting reforms carried out in accordance with the best world practice in the fields of labour, employment and social protection, the work implemented to improve population occupancy and demographic policy.
At the meeting, reforms carried out in the field of activity of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, future cooperation areas with international organizations on the study and application of progressive international experience in these areas were identified.
