Minister of labour and social protection of the Republic of Turkey Mrs. Julida Seriyeroglu, who is on a visit to our country, visited the "Graduate House" Social Institution of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Minister of labour and social protection of population of the Republic of Azerbaijan Salim Muslumov informed Mrs. Julida Seriyeroglu about the work carried out in our country towards provision of social protection of young people who have graduated from state-run children's institutions, lost both parents and are deprived of parental care, creating a comprehensive opportunity for them to properly realize themselves in life as other peers in society.
The minister emphasized that "Graduate House" Social Institution for graduates of state-owned children's institutions was created as a result of the special attention of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to the young people of this category and humanitarian initiative of First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs.Mehriban Aliyeva: "So far, 222 young people have been provided with apartments in two multi-apartment buildings. Many of them have been married there after being provided with a new apartment and now there are 137 families in the "Graduate House". 116 children are growing up in these families". S. Muslumov noted that the construction of the third residential building for this institution is also under completion. It is planned to build a kindergarten, a sports complex around the building, and a school nearby for them, as well as a number of other social infrastructure facilities in the building for the "Graduate House".
Bringing to the attention that purposeful work is being carried out to ensure the employment of the residents of the "Graduate House", the minister said the vast majority of them have been provided with suitable jobs in various institutions, some of them in this institution and etc. "At the same time, last year, carpet and sewing shops were created in the "Graduate House" with the support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population. A group of young residents were provided with workplaces in these shops after gaining relevant occupations in vocational training courses organized by the ministry. Two days ago, 12 more young people have been provided with permanent work in the field of greenery".
Mrs. Julida Seriyeroglu has been closely acquainted with the conditions created in the "Graduate House", carpet and sewing shops operating here. She emphasized that the provision of young people who have graduated from state-run children's institutions, lost both parents and are deprived of parental care with comprehensive care and support, the creation of such living conditions for them is another example of the fact that the Azerbaijani state has a strong social policy course.
