This year, the State Employment Service held Labour fairs in 57 districts and cities of our republic (VIDEO)
Active employment events have been organized in 10 higher education institutions
One of the active employment events organized by the State Employment Service under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan are the Labour fairs, which play an important role in ensuring the employment of unemployed and job seeker citizens. In 2017, Labour fairs were held in 57 districts and cities of our republic by the State Employment Service. In the events, empty (vacant) workplaces were offered to unemployed and job seeker citizens on enterprises operating in the relevant districts and cities. During fairs, notifications to vacant workplaces were given to approximately 4,000 people in accordance with their occupations and specialties, as well as the working habits. About 100 people of them were persons with special needs in social protection and having difficulty finding a job. These persons have been sent to workplaces based on quotas to be provided with jobs. 88 percent of those who have been given notifications in Labour fairs have been already provided with jobs. In the mentioned active employment event, notifications to paid public works have been given to 114 citizens. 245 people who needed to change their profession because they did not have the job or profession that suited them because of their lack of vocational or professional qualifications have been involved in vocational training in accordance with the labour market requirements. In the current year, active employment events under the motto of "The first step in a career" to support students and graduates in accessing the labour market have been totally organized in 10 higher education institutions located in Baku, Ganja, Sumgayit, Lankaran and Mingachevir by the State Employment Service. In these activities, the opportunity has been created for students and graduates to establish initial contacts with employers and employers to select staff on the relevant specialties, also notifications to vacant workplaces have been given, those who wanted to be involved in refresher courses have been registered. Overall, in the 11 months of this year, the State Employment Service has provided 46,048 persons with suitable jobs, while 1143 persons with paid public works. 3226 persons have been admitted to the vocational training and further education courses by the Service, while 215 young people by the Vocational Rehabilitation Center for young people with limited health No. 1 of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
